The final year students of Nedewura Jakpa Senior High Technical School located in Damongo recently became a topic of discussing all over the country when they recklessly destroyed school properties in a protest against the 1.5 metres distance placed between their seats during their examination.
The 365 final year students are expected to pay an amount of one thousand cedis to ensure proper repairs to the very damages their violent protests caused to the school’s property.
Students who refuse to pay the said amount will find it impossible to access their examination results from the internet until they finally make payments.
It was later revealed to Joy News that the student’s main aim was to deliberately burn the new six-unit classroom block built to stop the double track but fortunately the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) arrived in the nick of time to save the day.
Mr.Saeed Muhazu Jibreal who is the Municipal Chief Executive Officer of West Gonja Municipality was a former teacher at the Nedewura Jakpa Senior High Technical School was shocked to witness the deeds of the students.
The dining Hall furniture, a new six-unit classroom block, and a master’s bungalow, including furniture in the examination hall and Louvre blades were among the properties vandalized.
