Who Is Luuk Kluiters? Details To Know About The Footballer

18-year-old young footballer, Luuk Kluiters,  who was set to transfer in club, Everton, could not secure the agreement as the work permit for him could not be obtained.

In preparation for a raid on his former club AZ Alkmaar, Marcel Brands is trying to seal a deal to sign trialist Luuk Kluiters.

A few months ago, Kluiters would have been able to move to Goodison Park with no problem, but the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union means it is now more difficult for players of that age to make the move. Following Brexit, the Dutchman was unable to meet the required criteria, but a move to France was no problem.

James Carragher was the only centre-back available to the Toffees in the summer transfer window despite wanting to buy from Wigan Athletic [Liverpool Echo]. Nevertheless, they turned their attention to Dutch defender Kluiters, 18 and he is now playing for Lille in France

Kruiters, 18, is described as a right-footed centre back Transfermarkt, who also claim that he stands 6’4″ tall.

Under Rafa Benitez he could have considered him as a right-back option going forward. His right-footedness would have been a decent addition to the Toffees under-23s. From the looks of things, Brands will not be able to raid his old club for potential first-team players anytime soon; he was AZ’s director of football between 2005 and 2010.

On Instagram, he wrote: “”A couple weeks ago, I made a deal with Everton.

“Unfortunately, I didn’t get a work permit and the deal was off. Still, I would like to give a huge thank you to Everton for the opportunity.

“Luckily, God opened a new door for me and today I am very delighted to have signed my first contract at this beautiful club @losclive.

“As ever, the hard work continues. Looking forward to the season ahead.”

After completing his free transfer from AZ Alkmaar, Kluiters will join the Ligue 1 champions.
