"You are a complete disgrace to Liberia" - Liberians mock Leymah Gbowee

Liberian peace activist Leymah Gbowee, recent social media post has incurred the wrath of some Liberians as many trolled her for always looking for means to undermined the ruling government.

However, a reaction by a fan identified as Amb James Bill Crayton raised eyebrows as he hinted that madam Leymah Gbowee "You will never be President in this Country if that is why you keep undermining other governments".

Liberian peace activist Leymah Gbowee along with former Liberian president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Tawakkul Karman were awarded the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize "for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women's right to full participation in peace-building work".

'I woke up this morning to news of the government of Liberia clamping down on the peaceful protest organized by young people against the pervasive rape culture in Liberia. This is sick, appalling, and a big shame on the Weah-led administration. To teargas and use violence on a peaceful gathering led by women against a pandemic is beyond unimaginable. I call out Minister Piso Saydee Tarr. Shame on you! Your job demands that you protect the most vulnerable population of Liberia, but you have chosen to align with your political God father. Minister Tarr, who plays politics with the tearing of a three-Year-old vagina? To say I am mad would be putting it mildly. I am angry, infuriated, boiling inside... if you had done your job void of politics we won't be where we find ourselves'.

Sad, sad, sad...

Madam Leymah Gbowee in a social media post described the action by the Government against protesters on Day 3 of the #SayNoToRape protest as 'sick' and 'appalling'. The 2011 Nobel Peace Prize winner also stated that the action against protesters is a big shame to the Weah- led administration.

Here are some reactions gathered by ASAFRICAN from social media:

You of all people should know better or have you forgotten that we're in the midst of a pandemic  which have devastating effects on developing countries around the world 🌎 as we speak then you have people who want to protest for more than two days how you expect our other brothers and sisters to feed look madam think Liberia and build Liberia 🇱🇷 and stop this your side walk talk

Its disappointing & sad! However, I feel a person like you and other influential Liberian women should be on the frontline of these protests and dont stop until the change we all seek is been put in black & white.

U are good for politicizing everything in Liberia for your own selfish reasons, you will not win any noble prize on this one. Why you didn't delivered the petition yesterday to the representative designated by the president, but only the president you want to come get your petition? I  know the reason, you want to turn your back on the president as you did the last time?oh yes.#disrespectfulpeople

Let add my voice to the many voices. It's too shameful on the side of  Mrs Gbowee to be so deceptional about this government. Even though you supported madam sirleaf but we expected you to have been a very good woman base upon ur prices you have won. You can't be protesters and have a hiding agenda.

Peaceful protesters shouldn't misbehave

You're one of those factors that contributed to us being unsuccessful today. Your decision to bring politics into this thing has destroyed our aims and objectives.

Leymah Gbowee shame on u as well. The role u play and award u been getting also  link to this, but u stay back becz u don't have interest in this government. Since everyone of ur sitting and doing secret talking, keep sitting and stop putting mouth on min Tarr

You are wasting your time you so-called Nobel Laureate Lemah Gbowee. You will never be President in this Country if that is why you keep undermining other governments.

So where was you when the minister went on the scene to received the petition and the protesters refused on ground that the president self should receive their petition. Why u didn't condemned their actions in the strongest terms but pretendedly want play the devil advocate.shame on you mehn...you surprise me.wow😭😭😭😭

You are a shame to this country Gbowee; why are you so-called peaceful protestors disrespecting the government officials and throwing insults at them? The government officials went there to simply receive the petition and all you told your politicians who are among the young peaceful Liberians to do is throw insults at them. You are a shame to Liberia Leymah Gbowee. You can’t make politics of people being rape ; this is a serious disgrace to that so-called Nobel peace price you won.

Do you expect Minister Tarr siding with your unending appetite to seek political relevance even at the detriment of the peace of Liberia?

U are the one shame on is this u call peaceful protest, after making our women to naked themselves in Ghana 🇬🇭 u got rich from them and neglected them u are here saying nonsense behave.

Leymah Gbowee used the poor suffering women of Liberia to gain international recognition and got rich. She turned her back on the people roaming around the world claiming that she is an advocate. PUAH

Activist Gbowee you also needed to play your part as senior citizen and also activist , but because you are against George Manneh Weah as president you decided to remain mute .

We shouldn't politicize every activity it is our responsibility to defend and protect, but all of you because of your  envious sprit against Weah have decided to remain silent in everything publically but running dirty politics in the night against the government

Leymah Gbowee , your so called advocacy is dead upon arrival

Nobody will get rich from this one and leave victims undone. PLEASE STOP MAKING MONEY OUT OF OUR MOTHERS, SISTERS, AND DAUGHTERS. LET IT ✋ NOW!!!... No getting rich again. RAPE IS EVIL, SATAN DIDN'T RAPE EVA.

If you are ashamed to be a Liberian as you have said then go to hell and get rotten there because it would've been better that you weren't born
